Fabricator

Position Description:

Fabricator Reports to the Production Manager

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

A custom fabricator designs, cuts, forms and assembles.

 RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for assembling finished products using tools, machines, and their own hands. Fabricates various types of products.
 
Knowledge:

The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:

  • Working knowledge in reading patterns and blue prints.
  • Working knowledge in assembly.
  • Working knowledge in reading patterns.

Ability: The incumbent must have proficient abilities in the following areas:

  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.

  • Ability to work as part of a high functioning professional team.

Skills:

The incumbent must demonstrate the following skills:

  • A custom fabricator needs to have excellent mechanical, coordination, and math skills.
  • Computer skills.
  • The ability to analyze blueprints and conceptualize the completed project is essential.
  • Time management skills.

 Job Duties:

Duties include but are not limited to:

    • Study and interpret assembly instructions.
    • Listen to and follow directions from supervisors.
    • Fabricate and assemble.
    • Determine if all parts are present.
    • Read and interpret blueprints and sketches.
    • Read parts list.
    • Assemble tools and materials.
    • Positions parts and subassemblies.
    • Interpret measurements.
    • Verify specifications.
    • Assemble components.
    • Ensure all parts are fitted and screwed in properly.
    • Alter dimensions to fit specifications.
    • Resolve assembly and production issues.
    • Complete preventive maintenance.
    • Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs as needed.
    • Ensure working environment is clean and safe.
    • Report errors in product line.
    • Check stock to ensure inventory is replenished.
    • Complete time cards for each job.
    • Complete quality control forms.
    • Place orders for supplies.
    • Participate in product development.
    • Build prototypes and test products.
  • Any other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Position Description:

Painter Reports to the Production Manager non-exempt – Pay based on experience
 
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Responsible for mixing, matching, and applying paint to various surfaces, and coordinating painting projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
 
Education and experience:

    • High school diploma required.
    • 5 years of prep and paint experience required.
  • A Technical degree in manufacturing, metal or auto paint or a field preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate.

 Knowledge:

The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective use of paint application systems.

  • Select paint according to requirements and match paint colors, following specified color charts.
  • Dispose of hazardous waste in an appropriate manner.
  • Remove grease, dirt, paint, or rust from surfaces in preparation for paint application, using abrasives, solvents, brushes, blowtorches, washing tanks, or sandblasters.
  • Spray prepared surfaces with specified amounts of primers and decorative or finish coatings.
  • Select production equipment according to product specifications.
  • Mix ingredients to create specific finishes.
  • Select production input materials.
  • Dispose of trash or waste materials.
  • Operate cranes, hoists, or other moving or lifting equipment.

Purchasing Agent

Position Description:

PURCHASING AGENT Salaried Exempt

Reports To: President/Vice President Summary - Job Description/Responsibilities

Purchasing Agent will negotiate with vendors for the purchase of all materials, supplies, equipment and services used by the company.

Purchasing Agent supervises the procurement of all materials and supplies necessary for company operations; establishes purchasing practices and procedures to be followed by all Purchasing department personnel, including the negotiation of price and delivery; and act as a liaison between the Purchasing department and management to deliver proper specifications, quotations, delivery terms, and best quality at lowest costs.

Summary - Qualifications/Skills

Purchasing Agent must be capable of analyzing and evaluating vendor offerings to ensure that the best quality products are purchased in a timely manner and at the best competitive prices. The Purchasing Manager will also be expected to make certain that Purchasing documents are properly completed and the terms and conditions of purchases are appropriate; assure that department records are maintained and that purchases are followed up on or expedited when required; check price histories on a regular basis to provide information on price variances; and handle recommendations and approvals of purchases in excess of subordinates delegated authority.

The Purchasing Agent must insure a proper inventory of all materials at all times to insure smooth operation in production. This position manages all employees of the Purchasing department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within the department.

Education/Background/Experience

  1. Candidate must have at least four years’ successful experience in related Purchasing position(s).
  2. Candidate must have at least 2 years in a supervisory position.
  3. Excellent negotiating skills are essential, as is the ability to communicate successfully with all levels of personnel.
  4. Bachelor’s Degree in business administration preferred.

  14. Traces delinquent arrivals from purchase orders.

Supervisory Responsibility

 Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. The Purchasing department hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The purchasing department must have staff coverage during this time frame.
